Description
Lloyds Bank is a late 19th-century stone building designed by G H Hunt, located on Threadneedle Street. It features a classical style with a rounded corner and consists of three main storeys plus a slated mansard roof. The ground storey is channelled and has round-headed windows that are linked by a decorated impost band and have masked keys. At the first floor level, elaborately decorated consoles support a cornice. A giant order of Corinthian pilasters extends through the first and second storeys, with attached columns of a modified order at the curved corner. The first floor windows are adorned with alternating triangular and segmental pediments. The entablature is topped by a parapet designed as a balustrade, featuring urns over the dies. A large circular lantern with a small cupola sits above the structure.
