Description
No. 2A Eastcheap is a building constructed between 1910 and 1911 by architect Frank Sherrin. It features a stone-faced exterior with shopfronts on the ground floor, some of which have been altered. The entrance is located at a splayed corner, adorned with crouching Atlantes on Ionic pilasters that support a semi-circular pediment. The first and second floors have shallow bow windows and panelled pilaster strips decorated with Renaissance motifs. The third floor includes mullioned and transomed windows, and the splayed corner features an octagonal bay. The building is topped with a dentilled cornice, an attic storey, and an octagonal turret with an ogee lead roof and a weathervane.
