Description
St Clement's House, located on Clement's Lane, is a mid to late 19th-century building featuring a long frontage with three main storeys above a basement, as well as one and two storeys in the roof. It is constructed from gault brick and Portland stone, with segmentally-arched openings. The ground storey is arcaded and includes some marble, with carved masks on the keystones. There are two entrances that are pilastered and pedimented, leading to a passage to Lombard Court. The first-floor windows have carved keystones and cornices. The building is topped with a small crowning cornice, and the roof has been altered. The plain returns to Lombard Court and St Clement's Court are of no particular interest. A stone tablet on the building commemorates Dositey Obradovich, a Serbian man of letters who lived from 1742 to 1811.
