Description
Nos 7 and 8 Philpot Lane are a pair of buildings dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century. They each rise to four storeys and have three windows. The fronts are now covered in stucco, with a parapet on No 8 and a crowning cornice on No 7. The roofs are tiled and consist of four hipped sections. The ground storey features shops, with No 7 having a simple timber front from the early to mid-19th century, while No 8 retains an original stone-dressed carriage archway on the north side. The rear of the buildings, which faces Brabant Court, is irregular and altered, constructed of red brick, and includes a later doorway to No 8 that leads to an early to mid-18th century staircase and panelling.
