Description
The Ship Tavern is a mid-19th century classical building located on Lime Street. It is constructed of gault brick with painted dressings and has three storeys plus a slated mansard roof. The façade features three windows and a pilastered ground storey topped by an entablature with a pair of pedestals and two acroteria. The windows and doors have arched wooden framing with decorated glass, and the floor windows are either corniced or pedimented. There is an end floor sill band, and the building has a modelled entablature and parapet. The interior is plain but has seen little alteration.
