Description

Whitbread's Brewery buildings, located in the London Borough of Islington, date from the mid-to-late 19th century. They are constructed of yellow brick laid in Flemish bond, with decorative elements made of blue and white brick. The building appears as two distinct blocks: the northern block has three storeys above a basement and features a five-window range, while the southern block has two storeys above a basement with an eight-window range. A narrower three-storey linking block connects the two, featuring a lower parapet.

All the windows are segmental-arched with gauged brick heads. The basement windows of the southern block are adorned with blue brick dressings, and there is a loading bay on the second floor of the northern block that has white brick dressings. The ground and first-floor windows of the linking block are flat-arched. There is a two-storey round-arched opening in the northern block, added in the late 20th century, along with a single bay at the southern end that has a similar arch from the same period. Above the parapet, there is an iron railing.
