Description

This is a detached house located on Wedderburn Road, constructed in 1886 by Horace Field. It is built of red brick with a hipped roof now covered in pantiles, featuring overhanging eaves. The architectural style is Stripped Tudor or Vernacular Revival. The house has brick chimneys and a gable finished in roughcast. It is two stories high and displays an asymmetrical composition, with a three-sided, flat-topped bay window to the right of centre, topped with a gable. All windows are leaded casements. A Tudor-style entrance is located at the centre, featuring a modified, small pediment over the door. To the left of the main facade is a slightly recessed wing with open arcading on the ground floor. The interior remains uninspected. The property forms part of a group, relating to numbers 1, 5, 7, 9, 11 and 13 on Wedderburn Road, which are also early works by Field.
