Description
A semi-detached pair of houses located on Wedderburn Road, built in 1888 by Horace Field. They are constructed of red brick with hipped and tiled roofs extending over an eaves cornice. The buildings feature shaped gables and tall brick chimneys. The windows are mainly white-painted casements to the front, with sash windows at the rear. Dormers are incorporated into the roof. The design is in the Queen Anne style, characterised by a heavy composition with strongly emphasised ends. These ends feature deep projecting entrance porches with pilasters and a doorway set beneath a segmental pediment. Above the porch is a polygonal bay window, and a tall gable rises into the roof, although it has been slightly reduced in height on number 11. Tall chimneys are also present on the flank walls. The houses widen towards the rear. The interiors have not been inspected. These houses are part of a group including numbers 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9, and represent early works by Field.
