Description
27 Monmouth Street is a terraced house from the later 18th century that has been altered, featuring an early 19th-century wooden shopfront. The building is constructed of red brick and has a stucco first-floor sill band. It stands three storeys high, with an attic that includes dormers and a basement. The facade has two windows. The shopfront is notable for its reeded pilasters that support an entablature with a projecting cornice, and it features projecting shop windows with large panes. To the left of the shopfront is the house doorway, which has a rectangular fanlight above a six-panelled door. The recessed sash windows are topped with gauged flat brick arches and have exposed boxing with original glazing bars. The parapet has been restored. The interior has not been inspected.
