Description
No. 55 Neal Street is a former warehouse built in the late 19th century. It features red brick construction with terracotta and stone decorations, designed in the Flemish Baroque style. The building stands four storeys high and has three windows across its facade. The ground floor includes a plain, segmental-arched central doorway flanked by segmental-arched windows, with the door and glazing dating from the 20th century. The window bays are separated by octagonal pilasters on stone corbels that rise from the first floor, supporting a cornice adorned with a quatrefoil band below the third-floor windows. The upper floors have segmental-arched sash windows with glazing bars, and the central bay contains doors for a goods hoist. The building is topped with a Flemish gable featuring stone pinnacles and a pointed arch blind window with intersecting tracery. The interior has not been inspected.
