Description

No. 35, Neal Street is a terraced house dating from 1694, designed by T. Neale for D. Winterborne. The house was restored in the late 19th century. It is constructed of multi-coloured stock brick, with some areas partially refaced. There is a stucco band at first floor level and a red brick band at second floor level; the third-floor band has been replaced with a cement strip. The slate mansard roof has two dormers. The building is four storeys high, with an attic and basement, and has three windows. The ground floor features a 20th-century reproduction shopfront. Recessed sash windows are topped with gauged red brick flat arches. The interior, which was not inspected, is noted to contain good panelling and an original staircase.
