Description

This is a three-storey, two-window terraced house with a later shop, dating from circa 1695. It was restored in the 19th century and again in the 20th century. The house is constructed of multi-coloured stock brick with tuck pointing at the second-floor level, and has a tiled mansard roof with dormers.

The front features an early 19th-century wooden shopfront with pilasters supporting an entablature and projecting cornice, although the shop windows were altered in the 20th century. The doorway has a fanlight above a panelled door. A decorative mid-19th-century cast-iron shop sign bracket is also present. The flush sash windows have gauged red brick flat arches and 20th-century reproduction exposed boxing. A parapet tops the facade.

The rear elevation shows early 18th-century segmental-arched sash windows, two of which retain original exposed boxing and glazing bars.

Inside, the house has good panelling and 18th-century fireplaces. Original L-hinges are present, alongside a dog-leg staircase with a closed string, column newels, and turned balusters.
