Description

The Crafts Centre, located at 29-41 Earlham Street and 25 Neal Street in Camden, is a warehouse, likely originally a brewery, dating to the mid-19th century. It now operates as a crafts centre. The building is constructed of stock brick, with the roof largely obscured. It is three storeys in height, comprising nineteen bays facing Earlham Street. Number 43 features a splayed corner with a return to Neal Street. The two-storey elevation facing Short’s Gardens is also part of the listed structure. A brick band runs above the ground floor. The windows and doorways have segmental heads, with those on the ground floor of the Earlham Street elevation set within segmental headed reveals. The interior features a brick barrel vault structure supported by cast-iron columns. The Short's Gardens elevation, comprising numbers 8-26, was also listed on 10 March 1988 and is considered with the Earlham Street portion of the Crafts Centre.
