Description
Number 58 is a mid-19th century semi-detached house of stucco construction, featuring two storeys and two windows. A slightly projecting entrance bay is accentuated by a portico with pilasters supporting an entablature, the cornice of which extends across the front of the house at first-floor level. The entrance features a fanlight and panelled door, and the windows are architraved sashes; the ground floor windows are tripartite with eared architraves, while those on the first floor are corniced and have console brackets above the entrance. A cornice and enriched blocking course complete the exterior. The interior remains uninspected. Attached to the property is a stucco forecourt wall and gate piers. The building forms a group with the Edinburgh Castle Public House.
