Description

This is a pair of semi-detached houses, numbers 17 and 19 Greville Place, now combined into a single dwelling. They were built in the mid-19th century. The houses are constructed of yellow stock brick with stucco dressings, featuring bands at the floor and sill levels, linked at the first-floor level by large brackets and keystones. The roofs are slated and hipped, with projecting eaves; number 15 retains brackets, each with a small central segmental pediment containing a keystone and shell motif. Numbers 13 and 15 have gables on their entrance extensions. The doorways are round-arched with keystones, flanked by Corinthian pilasters that support a modified entablature, with fanlights and half-glazed doors (number 19 has been converted to a window). Ground-floor windows are set within shaped stucco surrounds with keystones. Upper-floor windows are recessed sashes, with those above the entrances within round-arched, lugged architraves and keystones. The interior has not been inspected.
