Description

A house with an attached studio wing, built around 1819-1825 by George Pocock, and now divided into three residences. The house is constructed primarily of yellow stock brick, with the ground floors of numbers 24 and 26 finished in channelled stucco and a plain band running along the first floor. Number 26A has a simple stucco band midway through its first floor. The roof is slated and hipped, with projecting eaves.

The building's frontage is irregular. Number 24 has four windows, with the right-hand window set within a recessed bay; number 26 features a single window and recessed entrance bay; and number 26A has a projecting studio wing with three windows. The original main doorway at number 26 has a round-arched stucco surround, imposts, and a fanlight. Numbers 24 and 26 have stuccoed segmental arches over the recessed sash windows on the ground floor, and keystones above the first-floor windows. Number 26A has stuccoed flat arches over the recessed sashes and a large, centrally positioned, architraved round-arched studio window on the first floor. This window has casements with glazing bars in the lower section. A parapet tops the building. The interiors have not been inspected.
