Description
Nos. 1, 1A, 1B, and 1C are a group of detached houses, now converted into flats, built around 1819 to 1825 by the builder George Pocock. The exterior is finished in stucco and features a plain band at the first floor level. The building has a slated hipped roof with projecting eaves and slab chimney-stacks. It is two storeys high with a basement and has a double front with three windows. A prostyle Doric portico is present, with a doorway that includes fluted quarter columns supporting a cornice head and a patterned fanlight. The entrance has a panelled door that is accessed by steps. The windows have been replaced with late 20th-century casement windows.
There is also an attached low stuccoed wall with gate piers topped with pyramidal caps and a cast-iron gate. The interior has not been inspected.
