Description

14, 15, and 16 Colville Place are three terraced houses built around 1766 by John Colville, with some alterations. They are constructed from multi-coloured stock brick and rise three storeys, with No. 15 featuring attic dormers, and all have cellars. Each house has two windows.

No. 14 has an early 19th-century wooden shopfront with pilasters supporting an entablature, which has been rendered. The former shop window has been modified for domestic use, and the shop doorway is blocked. The house doorway includes a fanlight and a panelled door, with gauged brick flat arches above the recessed sashes. A parapet crowns the building.

No. 15 also has an early 19th-century wooden shopfront with similar features, including pilasters and an entablature. Like No. 14, the former shop window has been altered for domestic use, and the shop doorway is blocked. The house doorway features a fanlight and a panelled door, with gauged brick flat arches above the recessed sashes, and it too has a parapet.

No. 16's early 19th-century wooden shopfront includes pilasters and an entablature. The shop window has been altered, and both the house and shop doorways have fanlights and panelled doors. The first and second floors have been refaced, and 20th-century glazing has been inserted. A parapet completes the façade. The interiors have not been inspected.
