Description

Three semi-detached pairs of villas, numbered 17-22, stand on the north side of Prince Albert Road, dating from the mid-19th century. They are constructed of stucco with slate roofs, featuring projecting bracketed eaves, dormers, and a semicircular form to the roof of number 22. The buildings are three storeys high with attics and semi-basements, each displaying two windows.

The facades are symmetrical, linked by side porticoes that incorporate half-round columns supporting a modified entablature which extends across the front at first floor level. Segmental-arched doorways have fanlights and panelled doors. The windows are architraved, segmental-headed sashes, some with margin glazing, and number 22 has blind boxes. Ground floor windows in the centre of the facades have canted bays with modillion friezes. Plaster roundels depicting putti are featured at second floor level of numbers 19 & 20 and 21 & 22. Tall slab chimney stacks are centrally located. The interiors have not been inspected.
