Description
The Church Hall to the United Reformed Church, originally built as a Sunday School in 1887, is designed in a Victorian Gothic style. It is constructed of white brick with stone dressings and features slate roofs that are gabled on the south and east sides. The building is two storeys high. On the east side, there are three 2-light mullioned windows on the first storey and two larger 3-light windows on the ground storey. All windows have chamfered sills, stone hood-moulds, and diamond-leaded glazing. A raised stone band runs below the first storey windows. The entrance includes a doorway with a 2-light window above and a plank door with raised pilaster strips. The south front has two 2-light windows and one single-light window in the same style, along with two doorways, one of which is from the 20th century. Each gable features an ornamental ventilation grille at the apex.
