Description
27 Guildhall Street is a house and shop dating from the early 19th century. It is built of white brick and has a slate roof with a plain wooden eaves soffit. The building has three storeys and a cellar, featuring a three-window range. The centre window openings are blocked, while the ground and first storeys have 12-pane sash windows, and the second storey has 9-pane sash windows, all set in plain reveals. The ground storey includes a small early 19th-century shop front, with a door and window framed by slender half columns and topped with a cornice. A 20th-century door has a rectangular fanlight with radiating glazing bars. The interior does not contain any earlier features, but there is an original reeded surround to one fireplace on the ground storey.
