Description

Nos 28 and 29 on High Street is a timber-framed and plastered building, possibly from the 17th century, with a brick front dating from the early to mid-19th century, which is now painted. The building features a parapet that is corbelled out at both the north and south ends, along with a stucco string course. It has two storeys and a four-window range, with double-hung sash windows that include glazing bars and are set in plain reveals. The ground floor showcases two attractive 19th-century shop fronts, complete with pilasters, a frieze, and a continuous bracketed cornice. The windows are accompanied by panelled stall boards, and the roof is covered with slate. Nos 28 and 29, along with Nos 1 to 8 in succession, form a group.
