Description

5 Market Hill is an early to mid-19th century house that is timber-framed and plastered. It has two storeys and features a three-window range with double-hung sashes that do not have glazing bars. The first-storey windows include segmental arched upper lights. On the ground storey, there is a three-light window with a cornice, along with a later shopfront that has a corner entrance. The house's doorway consists of a six-panel door with a plain rectangular fanlight, pilasters, and a cornice. The roof is slate and hipped at the south end. This building is part of a group of listed buildings that includes all the listed buildings in Market Hill, Church Street, Station Road, and Well Lane.
