Description

This is a churchyard monument, specifically an elaborate box-tomb, located in Bury St Edmunds. It was created in 1849 from Portland stone. The monument commemorates the Reverend J.W. Donaldson D.D., who was the headmaster of the Grammar School and passed away in 1861, as well as his daughter, Mildred Eleanor, who died in 1849. The details of the monument were noted in a survey of monuments in the Great Churchyard around 1960 by West Suffolk County Council.
