Description

This barn, located 20 yards northwest of Brook Farmhouse, dates from the early to mid-17th century. It features nine bays and has one aisle on the west side, with two midstreys, although one has collapsed. The structure is timber-framed and weatherboarded, topped with a slated roof. It includes deep plank arch-bracing and aisle bracing extending down to the aisle tie-beam. The main roof and aisle roof were rebuilt in the late 19th or early 20th century. Additionally, the aisle walling was reconstructed in flint and chalk with brick quoins during the 19th century.
