Description
Pond Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 17th century. It has one-and-a-half storeys and features a three-cell lobby entrance plan. The building is timber-framed with a roughcast finish and covered with double Roman tiles. It has an internal chimney stack with two shortened square shafts positioned diamondwise on a square base. The exterior has been modernised, featuring three-light small-paned 20th-century windows and a neo-Georgian door beneath a small open gabled porch. The gables have plain barge-boards, and there is one flat-headed dormer.
Inside, each side of the chimney stack has main beams that are stop-chamfered with scroll-stops and notches. On the west side, the joists are exposed, plain, unchamfered, and set flat. On the east side, there are remains of a large open fireplace with a timber lintel. All rafters are covered, and there is a single-storey lean-to along the west side.
