Description

This barn, located 40 metres east of Holywell Farmhouse, dates from the late 17th century. It features five bays and two aisles, with a monopitch-roofed porch. The structure is timber-framed and weatherboarded, while the front aisle and the east end wall were rebuilt in the late 18th century or early 19th century using painted clunch and red brick quoins. The roof is half-hipped and covered with double Roman pantiles, although some sections have been replaced with corrugated iron sheeting. The barn showcases complete archbraced timber-framing and has a purlin roof supported by principal rafters and queen-struts.
