Description
Chamberlain's Hall Farmhouse is a late 18th-century farmhouse with alterations from the mid 19th century and around 1980. It has two storeys and attics, featuring a double-pile plan and four windows. The building is constructed of red brick, adorned with dentil eaves and parapet gables. It has a two-span pantiled roof, with an axial chimney made of red brick and small-pane casement dormers that have flat leaded roofs. The mid 19th-century sash windows are set in original segmental-arched openings. The entrance door, which dates to the early 19th century, is a six-panelled design recessed between panelled reveals, complete with an architrave and a small oblong fanlight. A small square limestone plaque with the raised initials 'N.E.C.' is built into an end wall; these initials represent the New England Company, which owned the Eriswell Hall Estate during the 18th and 19th centuries.
