Description
Stow House is a house located in Stowmarket, dating from the mid-18th century and restored in 1986. It is constructed of rendered and whitewashed brick with roofs made of artificial slate and slate. The building has two storeys and a dormer attic, featuring five bays. The central door, dating from the 20th century, has a wavy fanlight and is set within a doorcase that carries an open pediment. On the ground floor, there are four late 20th-century sash windows in exposed boxes, and on the first floor, there are five, all with 6/6 glazing bars. A moulded eaves cornice runs below the mansard roof, which has three 20th-century sloping dormers. There is an external gable-end stack on the west side. A two-storey hipped block extends from the west and north sides, with two bays and 6/6 sash windows as previously described, along with a door located under a sloping hood.
