Description

The Cottage is a former farmhouse dating from the 17th century, located in Wetheringsett-cum-Brockford. It is timber framed, with the facade and right gable end covered in colourwashed brick, while the rest of the building is rendered. The roof is thatched. The structure is a two-cell, lobby entry type, with two storeys and an attic. The upper floor features two late 19th-century coupled sashes with four and six panes, while the ground floor has mid-20th-century small-paned casements set under segmental arches. There is a one-storey gabled porch made of colourwashed brick, which includes a late 19th-century six-panel door, with the upper two panels being glazed. The stack has an axial shaft, partly constructed of narrow brick. The interior has not been examined.
