-- II Former farmhouse. C15 hall range with early C17 parlour cross-wing to left. Timber framed, the facade roughcast-rendered, the remainder plastered. The right gable end is tarred, with old shaped brackets to the wallplate ends. Thatched roof. 3 cells. 2 storeys and attic. Mainly C18 windows with square-leaded panes, the attic window in the cross-wing diamond-leaded. Boarded door into cross-entry. The stack, at the junction of the 2 ranges, has a plain red brick shaft. One-storey plastered and pantiled rear lean-to additions. Interior. Truss over former open hall has massive cambered tie beam and arched braces meeting at the centre. Crown-post removed and roof reconstructed with side purlins, the sooted rafters said to be re-used. Some C15 studding exposed on upper floor. Service partition has paired doorways, the 4-centre arches largely re-made in mid C20. Stack inserted in upper bay of hall. Parlour has chamfered-joist ceiling, all components with lamb's tongue stops. The frame on both floors is concealed. Clasped purlin roof.
