3/30 Potash Farm House

Farmhouse. C17 with C16 origins probable, altered C19. Timber frame, plastered. Thatched roof. 3 cells, once longer with left bay and stack probably originally part of an earlier range. 2 storeys. Entrance in left bay of main block with a part fielded 6 panelled door, recessed with architrave, hood mould. 3-light glazing bar casements, on first floor a long 2 and 3-light window in entrance bay, ground floor hoodboards, first floor hood moulds. Left bay has slightly lower eaves, an axial ridge stack now extruded. Right end external stack with offsets, exposed plates. To rear of left bay a catslide roof over a brick and clay lump lean-to outshut, central on main range a boarded door. Interior: frame is largely concealed, runout chamfered axial and cross axial binding beams, on first floor where main range meets earlier bay to left are opposed base cruck blades to a raised tie beam.
