Description

The garden wall and gateway, located 30 metres north of Mausoleum House, date from around 1794. The wall is constructed of red brick in various bonds, arranged randomly, with narrow bricks that are likely reused from a 16th or 17th century building. It stands approximately 2 metres high and features shallow pilasters at intervals, along with splayed copings. The square gate-piers have moulded copings made of cast iron topped with ball finials. There are also a pair of oak gateposts and a wrought iron carriage gate. The wall extends about 5 metres to the east from the gateway and about 70 metres to the west.
