Description

This barn, located 20 meters southeast of Ward Green Farmhouse, dates from the mid to late 16th century. It has approximately four bays and is constructed from timber framing that is covered with weatherboarding. The roof, added in the mid-20th century, is sheathed in asbestos sheets. The barn features various 20th-century doors. Notably, it retains a well-preserved complete 16th-century wall framing with arch windbraced studding and a middle rail. Some tiebeam braces have been removed, while others have been replaced with bolted knees from the 19th century. The barn is included in the listing for its group value with the nearby farmhouse.
