Description
Cherry Tree Cottage is a house dating from the early 18th century. It features rendered and colour-washed clay lump walls topped with a thatched roof that is hipped to the right. The building has two storeys and a central ridge stack. On the first floor, there is a two-window range consisting of a three-light casement on the left and a two-light casement on the right. Below, to the left, is a glazed door, followed by a two-light casement and a tall window. There are single-storey extensions at both ends of the cottage. At the rear, there is an outshut with a pantile roof, casements, and a glazed door.
Inside, the cottage features chamfered bridging beams and a central 19th-century stack with small back-to-back open fireplaces. The first floor has a ceiling at collar level, but the original roof is visible below, showcasing rafters of light scantling that rise from the clay lump walls.
