Description
Mill Green House is a farmhouse dating from the late 16th century to early 17th century, constructed in two phases. The right-hand section, which has a slightly lower roof ridge, is the earlier part. The building is timber framed and plastered, with the right gable end encased in colourwashed brick. It features a thatched roof and has two storeys plus an attic, arranged in a two-cell form. The windows are various casements from the 19th and 20th centuries. There is a lobby entrance with a gabled porch and a 19th-century panelled entrance door that was brought from another location. Inside, there is an internal stack and good exposed timbering, with the storey posts in the earlier section having moulded heads. Some re-used oak panelling is present against the stairs. The roof over the earlier section has clasped purlins and arched wind-bracing, while the later section features diminished butt purlins.
