Description
Gull Farmhouse is a late 16th-century farmhouse that features a timber frame, primarily covered in roughcast render, with the left gable end finished in colourwashed brick up to the eaves. The building has a pantiled roof and is designed in a three-cell form over two storeys. The windows are mid-20th century casements, each with a single horizontal glazing bar, and there is a semi-glazed door from the same period. The internal stack is an axial shaft made of late 19th-century red brick, adorned with white brick dressings and a central vertical band of brick set diamondwise, topped with a corbelled cap. The interior has been modernised, with concealed studding. The hall ceiling features an axial floor beam and plain joists set flat. Notably, the parlour cell appears to be unheated, which is an unusual feature. The roof structure includes clasped and butt purlins along with cranked wind braces.
