Description

The Old Beer House is a house that was once the Prince of Wales public house. It has a core dating back to the 16th century, with significant later alterations and rear additions. The building is timber framed and has a roughcast render with a plain tiled roof. It stands two storeys high and features a range of three sash windows, with 15 panes on the ground floor and eight panes on the upper floor. The doorway is adorned with a boldly-moulded architrave that has corner squares containing a circle, and it features a mid-20th century six-panel raised and fielded door. There is an internal stack with a rendered shaft and a long rear wing divided into three sections. The interior has not been examined. The building is included for its group value.
