Description
Overhall Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in two stages, dating from the 16th century and the mid-17th century. The building has one storey with attics and two storeys. It features a timber-framed structure that is plastered, with plaintiled roofs. A large axial chimney made of red brick from the 17th century is present, along with a 19th-century gable chimney on the right. The farmhouse has 19th-century gabled casement dormers and small-pane casements. At the front, there is a 19th-century pantiled outshut that contains a 20th-century two-panelled entrance door. The left section of the house likely represents the 16th-century hall and dairy, showing some unmoulded framing and evidence of a diamond-mullioned window. A two-cell block was added to the right in the mid-17th century, which includes a massive axial chimney, close-studding, and further evidence of a diamond-mullioned window.
