Description

This is a house, comprising numbers 1 and 3 Lowgate Street, built in 1815. The walls are of clay lump, plastered and colourwashed and sit on a high plinth of tarred brick. The roof is covered with black-glazed pantiles. The building is two storeys high and has a four-window front. A plank door is located to the left (north) of the elevation, alongside two 3-light casements and one single-light casement. The first floor has four 2-light casements. A gabled roof features a central ridge stack, bearing the date 1815. A single-storey gabled extension with a slate roof adjoins the right side of the building, containing a late 20th century plank door and a 2-light casement. The interior has not been inspected.
