Description
The Coddenham Country Club and Doctor's Surgery is a clubhouse and doctor's surgery built in the early to mid 16th century, likely in two stages, as a service range for the nearby Gryffon House. The building is two storeys high and features a timber-framed structure, with the upper floor jettied towards the street. The exterior is mostly plastered, except for a moulded bressumer over the jetty, which is a 20th-century replacement. The building includes various 19th-century small-pane sash windows and casements, as well as a boarded entrance door from the 19th century. Internally, some main framing members from the 16th century are exposed. Attached to the right is a 20th-century weather-boarded club room, which is not considered of special interest.
