Description
The Red House is a late 18th-century house located on Coddenham Church Road. It is constructed of red brick with white tuck pointing and features a hipped roof covered in plain tiles, along with a modillioned eaves cornice. The house has axial and rear chimneys made of red brick. It stands two storeys tall and has three windows, which are sash windows with flat arches made of gauged brick and small panes.
The entrance is particularly notable, featuring a doorway with panelled pilasters and an entablature topped with a broken pediment. The door itself has two panels; the upper panel is glazed with small panes, while the lower panel is subdivided to create a diamond shape within a rectangle. Above the door is a semicircular fanlight with curved bars. Access to the house is via a flight of seven moulded limestone steps, which are flanked by iron railings.
