Description
The building known as the Doctor's Surgery to the west of Pen-Inney Cottage is a house that has been converted into a doctor's surgery. It likely has origins dating back to the 17th century. The exterior is made of rendered and painted stone rubble, with cob above the first floor. The roof is steeply pitched and covered with slate, featuring gable ends. There are two stacks: a projecting stone rubble stack on the right and a brick shaft on the left.
The building has a single depth, two-room layout with a cross or through passage, which probably originally included a larger hall-kitchen on the right side. The front of the building is asymmetrical with two storeys and features a two-window arrangement. To the left of the centre, there is a 20th-century six-panel door, flanked by 19th-century casements on both sides and a 19th-century 16-pane sash window on the far right. On the first floor, there are two 19th-century two-light casements. The corner to the right is chamfered. The interior has not been inspected.
