Description

No. 15, Broad Street is a house, originally a house and shop, dating from circa 1795, with rear extensions added circa 1850. The building is constructed of rendered and colourwashed brick with slate roofs. It has two storeys and a three-window facade. The ground floor features five fluted engaged Roman Doric columns. Two original four-panelled doors with overlights are centrally located, flanked by a late 20th-century single-pane sash window and a tripartite sash window with 2/2 and 6/6 panes. A plain first-floor cornice runs across the facade. The first floor contains three 6/6 sash windows set within flush frames. A paired, mutilated eaves cornice finishes the top of the facade. The gabled roof is hipped to the east, with an external stack on the east gable. The interior includes a central passageway leading to the rear of the property, and a mid-19th century staircase with pierced flat balusters.
