Description
The Bark Store, located 20 meters north-east of the Tannery House, is an early 19th-century building, likely constructed between 1830 and 1860 for Lankester Webb. It was used for the tannery works and features flint lower walling with plastered and tarred clay lump above. The building has a slated roof, and at the right-hand gable, there is a bell turret topped with a weather vane. This gable also includes a set of large boarded doors, with two additional doors positioned high above them. The impressive roof spans approximately 20 meters and consists of twelve bays of trusses, which include kingposts and queenposts that are splayed at the base and strutted to support the purlins.
