Description

This is a terrace of six houses, numbered 27 to 35, located on the west side of High Street. The houses were built in the mid-19th century with stucco facades. They are two storeys tall, with attics and basements, and each house originally had two windows, for a total of ten windows across the entire terrace. The windows are double-hung sashes with glazing bars. The ground-floor windows have shouldered architraves and cornices. To create visual interest, every other window bay is set slightly back. The doorways are accessed by steps and have plain, rectangular fanlights above the doors, along with stucco architraves and cornices supported by console brackets. The roofs are a mix of slate and 20th-century tiles, with five gabled dormers projecting from the attic level.
