Description
The former cabmen's shelter, dated 1892, is located west of the Bolton Lane entrance to Christchurch Park. Originally situated in Cornhill, it now serves as a public shelter. This timber building features a boarded plinth and segmental arched openings, with four on the front and rear and three on the sides. The arches are adorned with carved ornamental spandrels. An entrance is located on the south-west side. The roof is gambrel-shaped, tiled, and includes a central louvred cupola topped with an ogee leaded roof and a finial. The eaves cornice is richly ornamented.
