Description
Nos 27 to 31 on St Nicholas Street are part of a range of 17th century timber-framed and plastered houses that feature jettied upper storeys. This group originally included Nos 25 to 39. The buildings have been altered in the 18th century and later. They are two storeys tall and have a four-window range with double-hung sash windows in flush cased frames. The windows for Nos 27 and 29 no longer have glazing bars, while No 31 retains one 18th century window with glazing bars. The ground floor features 20th century shop fronts, and the roofs are tiled. Nos 19 to 47 form a group with Nos 1 to 9 on Silent Street.
