Description
The Dairy Range at Cockfield Hall is a Grade II listed building, likely dating from the 16th century, with significant alterations made, particularly to the east facade in the early to mid-19th century. This structure originally served as stabling, residential space (Dairy Cottage), and general storage, including a game larder. It is primarily timber framed and mostly plastered, except for the east facade facing the courtyard, which is constructed of red brick. The roof is mainly covered with plain tiles, with some areas using pantiles on the south side. The building is a long range, measuring approximately 40 meters, and consists of two storeys with an attic floor on the south side. The windows and doors are mostly from the 20th century, with all openings on the east facade featuring square hood moulds. Notably, there is a 3-centre arched opening leading to the stables at the northeast corner, and one diamond mullion window remains at the south end, which appears to be the least altered part of the building.
