Description

The dairy, now part of Cogges Farm Museum, is located approximately 2 meters north-northwest of Manor Farmhouse. The building features 13th-century walls that were remodeled in the 17th century and shortened in the late 19th century. It is constructed of uncoursed limestone rubble and has a gabled stone slate roof. The dairy has a one-unit plan and stands two storeys tall with a gabled front.

A timber lintel supports a 17th-century plank door set in an ovolo-moulded frame, with "DAIRY" painted on wood above the door, dating to around 1800. To the right of the door is a 17th-century four-light chamfered wood-mullioned window, with a pentice roof above and a timber lintel over a loft opening. To the left, there is another 17th-century plank door in a heavy pegged frame that leads to an outshut, which has been partly rebuilt in mid-19th-century brick. The left side wall features a three-light wood-mullioned window, while the right side wall has a 17th-century three-light ovolo-moulded wood-mullioned window and a two-light chamfered wood-mullioned window.

Inside, the dairy has stop-chamfered beams and three raised cracks with a collar-purlin. In front of the building, there is a yard enclosed by a rounded limestone rubble wall with ashlar coping, approximately 6 meters long. The dairy was originally attached to the 13th-century Manor House and has been used as a dairy since at least the late 18th century.
